Why polygel?

Polygel and gel polish are both nail products, but they differ significantly in their applications, properties and the purpose for which they are usually used. Here are the main differences between polygel and gel polish:

1. Application and Purpose:

  • Polygel: Polygel is mainly used for nail extension and strengthening. It is a combination of gel and acrylic materials and is modeled on the nail to create different shapes. Polygel is thicker and sturdier than gel polish, and it is cured under UV or LED light.

  • Gel polish: Gel polish is a thin, gel-like nail polish used to apply color to natural nails or artificial nails. Gel polish provides a long-lasting, glossy finish and is cured under UV or LED light. It strengthens natural nails, but is not used for nail extensions.

2. Thickness and Firmness:

  • Polygel: Polygel is thicker and firmer than gel polish. It can be sculpted to achieve the desired nail shape and length, and it provides more structure and strength to the nails.

  • Gel polish: Gel polish is thinner and more flexible than polygel. It adds color and shine to the nails, but does not offer the same building capacity as polygel.

3. Flexibility:

  • Polygel: Although polygel provides strength, it is also more flexible than acrylic nails. This makes it more comfortable and less prone to breakage.

  • Gel polish: Gel polish is flexible, but it is designed to strengthen and color the natural nail, and it does not have the same building capacity as polygel.

4. Curing:

  • Polygel: Polygel is cured under UV or LED light, which makes it hard and retains its shape.

  • Gel polish: Gel polish is also hardened under UV or LED light, but the hardening mainly ensures that the color is fixed on the nails.

5. Removal:

  • Polygel: Polygel should be removed by filing or soaking, depending on the nail technician's preference.

  • Gel polish: Gel polish can be removed using the acetone and foil technique, but the process is generally less intense than removing acrylic or polygel.

In short, our Polygel is more suitable for nail extension and strengthening, while our Gel Polish is mainly used for applying color to natural nails. The choice between polygel and gel polish depends on the desired result and the application.
